STEP 1: Sign up for a Free No-Sweat Intro Session
You’ll sit down one on one with a Ripple Effect coach, to discuss your current health & fitness, and your goals for the future. We’ll help you put together a plan of attack to get you where you want to be! Everyone who comes in our doors has different goals, starting points, preferences, and fears. Starting with a conversation about these things helps us ensure we start you on the right path from day 1!
STEP 2: On-Ramp Program
Every new member who starts at Ripple Effect, regardless of athletic background and fitness level, starts with our On-Ramp program. On-Ramp contains four 60-minute one on one sessions with a coach. On-Ramp ensures you have a solid foundation in the basic movements before you jump into a group class, and helps our coaches get to know you so we can serve you better. We believe that starting with one-on-one sessions is THE best way to begin your journey at a new gym!
STEP 3: Group classes, personal training, nutrition coaching, or a mix!
Based on your starting point, your health goals, and your personal preferences, you’ll move from On-Ramp into your regular membership. For some people, this means continuing with one-on-one training. For others, they prefer our Group Classes. We also have members who do a mix of personal training and group classes. What is CrossFit, anyway?
CrossFit is a fitness program designed to help you tackle everything your daily life throws at you. We use a huge variety of tools, movements, and workout styles to keep you moving forward and prevent boredom. Rowing, gymnastics, bodyweight calisthenics, weightlifting, kettlebells, dumbbells, jump ropes, medicine balls…if it’ll help you get stronger and healthier, and be safe — we’ll try it!
Anybody can do CrossFit — it doesn’t matter how young or old you are, your past injuries, your fears, or anything else. If you’re ready to put in an honest effort and commit to showing up regularly, we can help you become the fittest you’ve ever been!
Do I need to be in shape to start CrossFit?
No!!! 1,000 times no! This is the most common misconception about CrossFit. Yes, it has a reputation for being hard, but all of our workouts will be scaled and modified to accommodate whatever level of fitness you’re at now. Ripple Effect is for the super fit who want to take it up a notch AND for the person who’s lifted nothing but paperclips for the last ten years. The tools for both sorts of people are built right into the CrossFit method.
Don’t decide you have to get in shape first to come here to get in shape. That’s a recipe for never starting. We work with all kinds of people in all kinds of shape, which is an enormous source of pride for us.
Do I need to sign a membership contract?
Nope! All our memberships are recurring monthly memberships.
Can I skip On-Ramp? I used to lift in high school.
If you have at least 3 months of CrossFit experience at a qualified CrossFit affiliate within the last year, we can schedule a 30-minute Test-Out session instead of On-Ramp. It will be up to the discretion of the coach whether you will be allowed to bypass On-Ramp completely. Safety is our #1 priority, so we need to make sure you’re ready before making that call.
